Synkera’s emerging product line - NanoCeramics for Life Science –addresses a significant market need for innovative, affordable and high performance solutions in bioseparation, bioanalysis and disease diagnostics, bioimaging and biotechnology fields and is an essential part of our growth strategy. Synkera draws upon both its IP holdings and the expertise in material science, nanofabrication and ceramic micromachining to achieve our goal of becoming a world-class provider of such solutions. Currently we are primarily targeting the following applications in life sciences:

• Liquid Filtration and Bioseparation
• Bioanalysis and Diagnostics (both in-vitro & in-vivo)
• Cell Culturing and Bioimaging
• Ceramic Microcomponents (BioMEMS)

Our membranes, microcomponents and nanoceramics products offer significant benefits to a broad range of users in the life sciences R&D, biotechnology and biomanufacturing markets. With the support of multiple grants from the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH), we introduced two new product lines in early 2010: ceramic filtration membranes and bioanalysis substrates. Another product under development is ceramic grids for cell culturing and multimodal bioimaging. We continue to push the envelope on performance, reliability and cost benefits and are actively developing new applications.
