| Surface Functionalization of AAO |
|
In recent R&D efforts, Synkera has established the capability to modify the surface chemistry of anodic aluminum oxide (AAO). This is accomplished using silane derivatives, featuring many possible functional groups (e.g. PEG, fluorocarbons, etc). Such conformal monolayer chemical modification provide for precise tailoring of the surface properties of AAO, while still maintaining the benefits of its nanoporous architecture of AAO membranes and nanotemplates. Some of the representative applications that benefit from this capability include hydrophobic pervaporation membranes, liquid separation membranes with reduced fouling, and implantable membranes for biomedical devices. If you have need for AAO nanoporous membranes with these modifications, please contact us. |
