Chemical monitoring has typically been outside the domain of consumer markets.  There are few exceptions, carbon monoxide (CO) being by far the most common.  Synkera is working to change this with its newest line of MikroKera™ products, which are pushing the envelope on performance, miniaturization and power consumption.  With ever lower size and power requirements, it is becoming increasingly feasible to bring economical, reliable chemical monitoring to consumers.  Specific applications of interest include:

• Embedded sensors for novel devices (including CO)
• Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), from building materials (new carpet, drywall, etc)
• Formaldehyde
• Gas leaks
• Refrigerant leaks
